I have got Jesus I have got all I need

“We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Bring them here to me,” he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. – Matthew 14:17-20 (NLT)

Have you ever been in the parking lot when there are plenty of parking spaces to choose from? One morning I went to the mall straight after sending my son to school. Because it was still too early, though there were many cars already but still plenty of space left in the parking lot. Being given a lot of options made me confused to choose for ‘the best spot’ because I was given options not to be close or near the P plater car, or not to be next to a big van or ute, and which space was the closest to the entrance. Whereas if the car park is full and many cars are still wandering around to find a car park, I will just get anything I can find. If there is anyone out from their car park I will race to get to that spot before the other car comes.

What am I trying to say? Sometimes God purposely doesn’t give us too many options to choose from so we do not confuse ourselves and choose the wrong ones. He wants us to depend on Him to wait for the ‘one-car park spot’ in His good timing.

When I was younger and wanted to apply for a job, I would feel happy if I can get several interviews at once. I felt I could get more chances to get a job whereas if I only got called for one interview I felt my chance to get a job was very low. However, with God, we do not need a lot of interviews. We just need one if that is from Him.

In my walk with God, most of the time I was never given a lot of options to choose from. Whether in career, in finance, or in other areas. Sometimes even I cannot have a plan B. I was only able to do plan A and only plan A. If that plan doesn’t work, I have no other choice. There were times I got frustrated with the situation where I didn’t have bargaining power or no other options to work on me but I was always reminded that if God is with me in the process, even with that plan A I have got, He will make sure it works for me.

The title I chose for this blog is the lyrics of the songs that we often sing in our church. When I am down and distressed, singing this song just reminds me though I don’t have anything left to go on with this life, I have Him always with me, and He alone is sufficient enough for me above my health, above my job, above my finance. He will slowly guide me one step at a time to be out of my struggles.

For those of you who are still waiting for His answer, His help, His provision, His way out, let us courageously declare that if we got Jesus in our lives, we have got all we need.  We do not need many options. We just need Jesus to walk with us in our day-to-day. He will surely come and give you a way out.

Thank you for reading my blog and I hope this short message can enlighten your day.
