Living In Your Calling - Part 1: Chase Your Calling
Living in your calling
Part 1 – Chase your calling
11 And he has appointed some with grace to be
apostles, and some with grace to be prophets, and some with
grace to be evangelists,[a] and
some with grace to be pastors,[b] and
some with grace to be teachers.[c] 12 And
their calling is to nurture and prepare all the holy believers to do their own
works of ministry, and as they do this they will enlarge and build up the body
of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-12 (TPT)
The above verse mentions that each of us has our own calling
in the kingdom of God. Do you know what your calling is? Have you asked God
what your calling is?
In my early years of being a Christian, I have heard about
this word of ‘calling’ many times. But honestly I could not recall if I ever
asked God what my calling was. Maybe every now and then I asked but I couldn’t
be bothered to get the proper answer from Him.
I was busy building my career, filling up my bank account,
building family, raising kids, etc. I thought going to church regularly,
attending church programs, and doing ministry at my local church should be
enough for me. Until after my late brother’s diagnose, it opened up my eyes
that all of the things I have been working on is not important in this life.
God has blessed us abundantly for His Kingdom and not for our personal gain.
Taking care of my late brother reminded me that nothing matters most than doing
the will of God in life. Those things that I used to value so much I cannot take
with me to eternity. I need to focus more to do things that I can take to
eternity.
The people at my local church have been focusing their
ministry in the girls, women, and building the city. Unfortunately though I
tried to help their ministry, I did not have a strong desire to focus on that.
My role was only to support them. It is very difficult to give my all to some
ministries when I do not have the heart for it. So 2 years ago I asked God what
He wants me to do. I want to do something that I am really passionate about or
at least something that I have the heart for.
Surprisingly God answered me right away. I was very surprised
because I didn’t anticipate that He will speak to me that soon. It was
something that I never thought of but He has prepared me since my early years. I
never realised that I tend to be very concern whenever I hear someone has
health problem. Since many years if I hear this person or that person has this
sickness or that sickness, I naturally become very concern and my heart goes to
them. It was something that God has built inside me. He wants me to pray for
the sick.
It is not an easy task to be honest. I am not confident to
offer myself to pray for others but I am willing to give it a go if that what
God is calling me for. There is also a lot of mind battle in the real life
especially when I am asked to pray for a ‘high profile’ sickness. Praying for
my late brother was one of my training ground. I learnt many things when I was
praying for him. What I learnt the most was, at the end of the day the result
doesn’t matter. I should not be discouraged if I didn’t get the result as I
want it. What matter is my obedient to carry my calling.
Fast forward in 2020, God called me for another thing. I am
very touched by His kindness and mercy in my life. I never thought for a person
like me who don’t have any skills or experience, still can be used by Him for
His kingdom. Few months ago I asked God what else I can do to Him. I kept
asking Him in my prayer until one day He told me to be an encourager for His
people.
At first I just kept it to myself because I didnt know how to
do it. I prayed to God for more direction as I had no clue on how to do it.
Then God has given me hints after hints and some open doors. Therefore I
started making my own blog to encourage people. I have no experience in
writing, my english is also not perfect. But I am willing to try knowing this
is all for His kingdom.
I hope my sharing brings some encouragement into your life.
Ask God for what His calling in your life is. I am sure He will give you the
passion, the desire, and the burden on something that He wants you to do. He
will also give you the skills that you need to carry the task as you are
stepping your feet into the ‘Jordan River’ by faith. All you need to do is just
to obey Him.
Please always remember when you decide to do His calling in
your life, do not focus on the end result.
Your obedient is what matters most.
Thank you and hope this will bring blessing to you.

Yes, your message has definitely brought deep conviction into my heart Merry..🙌🙏
