The Insight of Jeremiah 29:11
One day when I was in desperate situation and I tried to read
out loud this verse again, I felt God asked me to read from verse 10.
10 This is what the Lord says: “When seventy
years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my
good promise to bring you back to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you,”
declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you
hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:10-11 (NIV)
I meditated on verse 10 for a bit of time and tried to
understand. Then I received a new revelation that I would like to share to you.
This book is talking about when Israelites were in the exile.
They were in Babylon for quite sometimes. And from the story, we know how
desperate the Israelites were to get out from Babylon. But they had to stay there
for 70 years which has been appointed by God.
The word ‘Babylon’ for us now is representing the state or
situation that we have to endure or trials and challenges that we have to face.
Nobody likes to have ‘Babylon’ in our lives. We want to go back to our ‘place’
as soon as possible.
This verse 10 simply says that God has set an amount of time
for His people should live in Babylon and when the appointed time has been
completed then God will come to them and fulfil His good promises.
So for us that are in our ‘Babylon’ right now and we are
waiting for His promises to come to pass, we should know that unless the
appointed waiting time by God has been completed, He is unable to rescue and
fulfil His promise to us.
Now this waiting time could be 70 years or 7 years or 7
months or 7 weeks or 7 days, or whichever length of time that God has appointed
to each of us.
We just have to wait and wait tirelessly for God to come to
us and to fulfil His promise to us. And when the time comes we will glorify Him
for His goodness and faithfulness.
Thank you and I hope this sharing will bring blessing to you.

Yes, I also love to quote this bible verse Jeremiah 29:11.
