Your Intuition Could Be From God

Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Proverb 3:5 TPT

Many times we experience something speak to our heart strongly that we should do or shouldn’t do about anything and we acted according to our so called intuition. Sometimes it turns out well, but sometimes we might make a mistake. However do not be fearful to continue to trust your intuition even if we have made mistakes in the past. I believe intuition can come from the Holy Spirit. It is Holy spirit who guides us. I understand that sometimes our desire or our mind takes part in our gut feeling hence we cannot differentiate if this is our own thoughts or Holy spirit is trying to speak to us. The only way to find out is to test it by doing it.

I want to share the story that happened to my late brother about three years ago which I think is a beautiful testimony that I need to share to all of you.

Back in March 2018, my late brother got diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He then quickly underwent treatment for his cancer. Sometimes in September 2018, in the middle of his chemotherapy treatment he got permission by his doctor for 2 weeks break to go to Indonesia for a family wedding.

During this few months of his treatments, he experienced a lot of encounters with God and he could feel God’s love and goodness through the treatment process. He didn’t plan to go back to Indonesia due to his treatment, but he decided to ask the doctor anyway if doctor would have approved. Surprisingly Doctor approved his request. He then was reminded of our cousin’s son in Indonesia who suffered heart disorder since he was a little boy. This boy had to stop going to school when he was in high school due to his condition.

My late brother felt for him and decided to fit his schedule in Jakarta to meet him. He already contacted the mother of this boy before he arrived to Jakarta so they could meet up on certain day. Despite of his busy schedule in Jakarta, he made time to meet his cousin and her son. On that night, my late brother kind of preached to this boy. He shared to him how good God was, and how God loved him so much, etc. Cut the long story short, before they said goodbye, my late brother asked him to pray and asked for forgiveness if there is anything in his heart being angry to God for his condition. This boy said that he felt happy to meet my brother and grateful for what my brother have shared to him about God’s goodness.

The very next morning, when my cousin tried to wake her son up, he was already breathless. He passed away during his sleep and looked very peaceful. My brother was very shocked to hear the news in the morning from his hotel room. He didn’t expect that the night before was actually the important night for this boy. God planned to bring him home and He has used my brother to share about God to this boy. This boy was 18 years old when he went to the Lord.

I was shocked too and unbelieved to hear this story from my brother. He was surprised and felt comforted that God has used him to reach out people. He shared to me that for no apparent reason, he felt strongly that he had to see this boy while he was in Jakarta. This is definitely not his own feeling but God has initiated this meeting.

I love how my brother responded well to his ‘strong intuition’. He might think it was his gut feeling in the beginning but soon found out that it was God’s plan originally. So I just want to encourage you to stay bold and courageous whenever you strongly feel that you need to do something about anything. We never know that it might be God who wanted you to do it.

Thank you for reading my blog and I hope you God will speak to you through this.

  1. Good post Merry.
It's not intuition as much as the Holy spirit leading a person to fulfil a need that God had planned..in this case of the young boy needing to reconcile with God before his passing.
You a remarkable woman of God. May His blessings continue to pour out on you.
