Nothing Is Too Little For God

October is the birthday month of my children. Their birthdays are four days apart. Every year we normally just celebrate their birthday with families only. However, this year I thought I wanted to celebrate their birthdays with their friends because it has been a while since they had a proper party with their friends.

One night when I was planning the party, suddenly I remembered that I had to prepare goodie bags for their friends at the party. I completely forgot that the kids will want to have goodie bags after the party. Quickly, I went to my cupboards to search if I might have some leftover party bags or boxes from their previous birthday parties but I couldn’t find anything. I went to myself, ah so much trouble to prepare these goodie bags. I just wanted to make it a nice and simple party. Though I was unenthusiastic to prepare this as my kids are grown up, I had to put this on my to-do list. 

Unexpectedly two hours later my friend messaged me asking a very random question, hey Merry do you think your children want some goodie bags for their birthdays? I was stunned by her questions. Because firstly, I didn’t think she knew that my children’s birthday was around the corner and secondly, it’s been a while since I hold a party for my children. She had no idea that I was going to hold a party for my children.

Perhaps initially she wanted to give the goodie bags only to my two children, but when I replied to her that I wanted to celebrate my children’s birthday this year with a few of their friends, then to my surprise she asked how many children I was going to invite and she would love to prepare for all of them. At first, I thought she wanted to buy the bags/boxes only, but she actually wanted to include the lollies and everything in the goodie bag.

Of course, I accepted her offer knowing that this was from God. He knew that I just had this in my mind several hours beforehand and without any delay, he sent someone to help me clear my mind from the hassle to prepare goodie bags. My friend prepared 16 goodie bags for my children’s birthday party and I was very grateful for her blessing to my family.

I was amazed by His goodness to me even with a simple thing. We must have thought this kind of thing is not important enough for God to help us. He should have just helped us in a bigger matter. But this is the heart of our Father. He cares a lot about us. If it matters to us it will matter to Him too.

I was reminded once again that He knows our thoughts and anything that worries us even though we haven’t yet told him. I shall not be afraid to approach Him whenever I have a concern, small or big. Nothing is too little for Him and of course, nothing is too significant to Him. We are important in His eyes because we are His children.

    Yes, nothing is too little for God.
    Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered (Matthew 10:30 NIV).

Trust that God is able to speak to you

  Many of us desire to hear God’s voice. We feel great if we can hear Him talking to us directly. Unfortunately this doesn’t always happens every time. God can speak to us in many ways. He can speak through visions, dreams, audible voice, bible verse we read, from our parents, pastors, and so on. Our preferred way of God speaking to us is always for God to speak audibly to us.
